The Dell Pro Rugged 13 (model RA13250) is a fully rugged 13.3-inch AI laptop, IP65 certified for protection against dust, dirt and water, and tested to MIL-STD-810H with drop tests of up to 1.83 metres (6 ft). It operates at temperatures from -29°C to 63°C and offers improved cold boot at -20°C. According to Dell, it is the world's smallest 13-inch fully rugged AI PC (Dell internal analysis, August 2024).
The laptop is available with three processor configurations: the Intel Core Ultra 5 135U (12 cores, up to 4.4 GHz, 15 W), the Intel Core Ultra 7 165U (12 cores, up to 4.9 GHz, 15 W) and the Intel Core Ultra 7 165H (16 cores, up to 5 GHz, 28 W), each with a built-in NPU for AI workloads in the field. Memory is 16 GB or 32 GB LPDDR5x up to 6400 MT/s (onboard) and storage can be configured from 256 GB to 2 TB via M.2 2230 or M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe, including self-encrypting (SED) options.
The 13.3-inch FHD touchscreen (WVA) reaches 1400 nits, works with gloves and supports a passive pen, so you can keep working in direct sunlight or rain. Connectivity includes Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 or optional Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200, optional Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 5G or Snapdragon X12 4G LTE (both eSIM capable), and a dedicated u-blox NEO-M9N GPS module. The laptop is FirstNet ready.
Hot-swappable 3-cell 53.5 Wh ExpressCharge batteries keep you working without interruption; a second battery is optional. A configurable rear I/O port offers a choice of an additional RJ-45, additional RS-232, USB 3.2 Type-A or Fischer USB 3.0. RJ-45, RS-232, HDMI 2.1 and Thunderbolt 4 are included as standard.
Security includes TPM 2.0, Dell ControlVault 3+, Dell SafeBIOS and SafeID, with an optional fingerprint reader, contact and contactless (NFC) smart card reader and an FHD IR camera with Windows Hello. The Dell Pro Rugged 13 is optionally available with hazardous location certification, but it is not ATEX or IECEx certified.
With a starting weight of 2.40 kg (with one 3-cell battery), dimensions of 324×220×36.5 mm and a sturdy carry handle, the Dell Pro Rugged 13 is built to go wherever the toughest work takes you.
