The Getac ZX80W-EX is a fully rugged 8-inch Windows 11 tablet, certified for ATEX and IECEx Zone 2/22, developed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres where reliable Windows-compatible computing, on-device AI performance and extreme mobility must be combined in a compact, lightweight fanless design.

The device shares the hardware platform of the ZX80W and is powered by a Qualcomm QCS6490 octa-core ARM processor clocked at up to 2.7 GHz, combined with 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB UFS storage for silent, fanless operation that completely eliminates the risk of disruption caused by dust accumulation or moisture in a cooling system.

The Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC operating system provides a stable, long-term supported platform with ten years of security updates and full compatibility with existing Win32 applications via Microsoft PRISM ARM64 emulation. The integrated Qualcomm Hexagon NPU with 6th Generation AI Engine delivers up to 13 TOPS of compute power for on-device AI applications including predictive maintenance, machine vision and real-time data analytics in hazardous process environments without dependency on cloud connectivity.

Compared to the ZX80W, the ZX80W-EX incorporates specific intrinsically safe construction features: 0.6 mm thicker display glass for enhanced impact resistance, a reinforced back cover for increased impact protection, a secure port cover for the main docking connector, and mylar seals on all exposed screw covers.

The 8-inch WUXGA LumiBond display at 1,000 nits brightness with glove-enabled capacitive touchscreen guarantees excellent readability in direct sunlight and operation under all field conditions. The LifeSupport hot-swap battery system enables battery replacement during operation without shutting down the device, ensuring continuous operational availability in 24/7 process environments.

The ZX80W-EX weighs 780 grams and measures 234 x 149.8 x 17.6 mm, making the device exceptionally portable for extended field deployment despite its additional EX housing reinforcements. The ZX80W-EX is available in multiple configurations for connectivity, touchscreen mode and battery capacity.
