The Dell Pro Rugged 14 (model number RB14250) is a 14-inch semi-rugged AI laptop certified to IP53 for protection against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction, and tested to MIL-STD-810H for transit drop, blowing dust, vibration, functional shock, humidity, altitude, and thermal extremes across an operating temperature range of -29°C to 63°C.

The device is available in three processor configurations: the Intel Core Ultra 5 125U (up to 4.30 GHz), the Intel Core Ultra 5 135U (up to 4.40 GHz), and the Intel Core Ultra 7 165U (up to 4.90 GHz), each featuring 12 MB cache, 12 cores, and 14 threads at a thermal design power of 15 W. System memory is configurable from 8 GB to 64 GB DDR5 at 5600 MHz across two upgradeable SoDIMM slots, while storage is available from 256 GB to 2 TB via M.2 2230 or M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe slots, including self-encrypting drive (SED) variants in class 35 and class 40.

The display range includes a 400-nit non-touch standard screen and an optional 1100-nit touch outdoor-viewable screen, both in FHD (1920×1080) with 100% sRGB coverage and low blue light certification. Wireless connectivity options span Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and optional Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200, supplemented by optional Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 5G (up to 3.5 Gbps downlink) or Qualcomm Snapdragon SDX12 4G LTE (up to 600 Mbps), discrete U-BLOX GPS, and a nano-SIM slot.

A configurable I/O bay offers a choice of RJ-45, USB Type-A, native RS-232 serial, or Fischer USB 3.0 (9-pin). Two hot-swappable 3-cell 53.5 Wh ExpressCharge batteries, backward compatible with previous-generation rugged laptops, deliver uninterrupted runtime without system shutdown.

The security architecture encompasses TPM 2.0 (FIPS 140-2 and FIPS 140-3 certified), Dell ControlVault 3+, Dell SafeBIOS, off-host BIOS verification, optional fingerprint reader, optional contactless (NFC) and contacted smart-card readers, and a Kensington lock slot.

With a starting weight of 2.04 kg and dimensions of 340×220×33.6 mm, the Dell Pro Rugged 14 is the world's lightest 14-inch semi-rugged AI laptop in its class.
